Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a commutation application for consideration by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Claimed at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the commutation application. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the House judiciary committee, declared in a official statement that the prison’s warden was “helping” the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for clemency.

The exact content of the “commutation application” remain unclear, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the warden has individually organized private meetings for Maxwell and her guests.

These meetings reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her guests.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the security risk and potential for unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other prisoners, she was provided directions about who she should tell her associates to contact and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she “essentially used” the warden as her private aide.

The news release states that those writing to her would email documents directly to the warden, who would provide them to the inmate, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the official to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Reported

Other privileges allegedly granted to Maxwell include time to “play with” a service dog puppy – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the representative noted.

Context and Developments

Over the weekend, it was reported that she told friends and family in emails from prison that she was more content at the Texas facility than her former location.

This past summer, she was moved from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most inmates are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as the President's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around Trump's own personal ties to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, Raskin also announced that he had sent a letter to Trump, requesting explanations about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche appear for a open legislative session to discuss the revelations and also posed three questions to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a possible clemency for the convict with Blanche or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in prison, and whether she, her lawyers, family or agents have made any commitments to the President or his legal team.

Raskin has asked for a response to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an appeal from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
